Youth Leadership Programs
For more than 60 years, electric cooperatives across the country have invested in students through cooperative-sponsored youth leadership programs, sending them to discover their voice, walk through history, build lifelong friendships and grow into leaders who strengthen their hometowns. These opportunities aren’t just trips — they’re chapters in a student’s story, full of moments that shape who they become.
This summer, 4 Rivers Electric will send two student representatives to attend Electric Cooperative Youth Tour and two students to Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp.
Electric Cooperative Youth Tour
During Electric Cooperative Youth Tour, June 13-19, 2026, students will travel to Washington, D.C., explore monuments and museums, meet with government representatives, and make lifelong friends with students from across the country. This trip of a lifetime provides leadership lessons from our nation's history and the cooperative spirit that built our nation.
Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp
Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp is July 10-16, 2026, at Glen Eden resort (www.glenedenresort.com) near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. High school students from electric cooperative communities in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Wyoming participate in this leadership camp. Together, they will create a candy cooperative, hear from dynamic speakers, and raft down the Colorado River.
